Annie Cochran was born November 25, 1946, in Franklin County, Georgia.

Annie Cochran left school in the 10th grade and began raising a family a short time later. She devoted herself full time to her husband and four daughters until her children were grown. In 1988, Cochran found employment at a local furniture factory as a wood sander. One day, she expressed her interest in art to a co-worker who encouraged her to paint on some scrap wood. That night she made her first painting and ever since then she has been painting her somewhat surreal imaginings on smoothly sanded pieces of wood. She likes to paint "love and happiness; nothing sad."

Annie Cochran is a talented self-taught artist who has not had a great deal of exposure. She is an emerging artist whose work deserves attention.
