Dennis Banks was born on November 10, 1957.
He currently resides in Habersham County, Georgia. His father was a builder and Dennis learned his carpentry skills through watching his dad and teaching himself. Most of his work-life has been assisting in building homes and doing fine wood crafting. The opportunity to help build some rustic houses got him interested in working with trees and his first art project was creating walking sticks.
Dennis has advanced significantly since those early projects, and today is recognized for highly detailed and beautifully designed rustic inlay tables, benches and stools. He uses wood from his own land and most of his furniture includes a variety of woods such as hickory, pine, walnut, willow, cedar, cherry and persimmon. His inlay designs range from owls and hummingbirds to bears and deer. He is happy to do custom work and take on a challenge.
All of Dennis pieces are well sealed for endurance and every day use. They are sturdy and functional as well as beautiful.
