Inez says she has had an interest in wood materials since she was a child. After moving to Florida in 1991, she became inspired by the work of other artists
to make furniture. The idea of building furniture from scratch and of her own design intrigued her. Now working from a studio in St. Augustine, she hand builds each piece and then begins the time-consuming process of painting, using latex house paint. The project may take months to complete as she sands each layer to allow the colors beneath to show through. That to her is “where the magic lies.”
Each piece of furniture is a one-of-a-kind. Inez is also happy to design pieces to a customer’s specifications.
