On-going is our “Spirit Within” exhibition featuring the somewhat surreal, fanciful paintings by folk artist Annie Cochran, carved wood and found object sculpture by OL Samuels and exquisite paper collages by Della Wells. Our upstairs gallery has never been more beautiful! This exhibit will be on view until September 16. Check out the exhibition page on our website and click on the “rabbit” to see examples of the artwork.
Folk Fest in Atlanta
Beginning August 17, we will be an exhibitor at Folk Fest in Atlanta. Over 80 dealers and galleries will converge on the North Atlanta Trade Center for three days of folk art. Friday evening is the artist’s reception followed by two days of show and sales. It’s a treasure hunt! For more information, see www.slotinfolkart.com. Our gallery will still be open in Clayton however!
Coming in September
“Coming to Life” Karen Croner’s Papier-mâché Sculptures; New Looks for an Old Art Form. See photo below.
We were astounded when we received this congratulatory email from Brown’s Guide to Georgia:
“Main Street Gallery was the winner in last week’s Brown’s Guides Facebook Poll asking readers to Name your “Must Stops” along US 441 from Fargo at the Florida state line to Dillard at the North Carolina state line. The results were announced this morning on Brown’s Guides Facebook Page and promoted on Twitter.”
We apparently got over 1000 votes! Thank you to all who voted for us!
