Sarah Rakes Art for Sale

We are currently featuring gallery artists in our exhibition space upstairs until we begin our seasonal shows once again in June.  This fabulous Sarah Rakes oil painting from 1994 is one of many paintings on display.

2023 Exhibitions

HOLLY SCHLATER, CAROL ROLL, and CAROLYN SIMMONS

May 13 – June 10, 2023: “Playful and Free, Glory Be!” Fanciful art by painter Holly Schlater combines with charming found-object sculptures by Carol Roll and whimsical pottery by Carolyn Simmons.  

Marsha vrono Trunk show

June 17, 2023: “All That Sparkles.” Semi-Annual Trunk Show by jewelry designer Marsha Vrono (11:00 until 3:00).

THERESA DISNEY

June 17 – July 22, 2023: “Dancing With Sunshine.” Theresa Disney returns with lively new paintings that kick off summer feeling like warming rays of the sun. 

JIM KOPP AND BARRY GREGG

July 29 – August 26, 2023: “Angels and Other Heavenly Beings.” Dreamlike construction-paintings by Jim Kopp inhabit an alternate universe with captivating ceramic sculptures by Barry Gregg.  

mama johnson and willard hill

Sept. 2– Nov. 11, 2023: “Keeping Company With Willard Hill and Mama Johnson.” Willard Hill of Tennessee and the late Mama Johnson of Central Florida rank as real-deal Southeastern folk artists. They have (in Mama J’s case, had) the special gift of bringing their characters to life.  Willard makes his humorous characters primarily in masking tape and Mama J introduced her cast in paint and marker.  “Somes were good and somes were bad,” Mama J explained of her subjects, “just like you and me.”

Nov. 18– Jan. 13, 2023: “Bible Stories.” Self-taught Florida artist Tommy Durham creates semi-abstract paintings inspired by his ardent faith and passages from the Bible.
