Kurt Zimmerman was born in 1925 and passed away September 18, 2017. Kurt was born in Plochingen, Germany, but moved with his family to the United States in 1929.
In 1963, Kurt Zimmerman, who had a degree in electrical technology, was working on a project in Germany for NATO. While in Germany, he experienced an emotional breakdown which became the catalyst for his artistic career. Returning to Florida, he began working full time painting his fantasy animals and landscapes. He says of his art, “My work is a direct expression of information from other realms.”
Zimmerman’s work has been shown in many prestigious galleries in the United States and at the Henry Boxer Gallery in England. He is included in the permanent collection of the Mennello Museum in Orlando, Florida.
