Carolyn Simmons
Carolyn Simmons was born in Clayton, GA, in 1946. She grew up in Demorest, Georgia.
“Crazy artistic women are rampant in my family. My mother was an art teacher, artist, and musician. I started playing with clay in 2001 and knew it was the medium for me. I started out making more functional pieces but currently make both functional and non-functional with a twist. I also like to create sculptures.
Most of my work carries a theme or story. I have an interest in the old-time ways of living and that seems to be in many pieces as well as animals, farm life, fairy tales or whatever the mood strikes on that particular day. Music is also an important part of my clay makings…
I enjoy listening to all types of music while working in my shop.
I like for people to laugh and have fun with my pottery because I sure have fun making it.”
Note: There is no additional charge for shipping/handling inside the continental U.S., except where noted on individual pieces of artwork. Tax is charged to Georgia buyers only.
