Rudolph Savain
Rudolph Savain was born on Dec. 10, 1955 in Haiti and passed away in July of 2025.
His family immigrated to the United States when Rudy was 8 years old. They lived for a while in NY but eventually moved to Tampa, Florida.
Rudy loved art from a young age and painted almost every day. He was diagnosed with Schizophrenia when he was 16 but still
managed to complete his high school education.
In Valrico, Fl, Rudy lived with a caregiver and attended a program for physically or mentally challenged people in Tampa. There, he was encouraged to pursue his art. Rudy was extremely shy and reluctant to talk about himself or his motivation to make art but he did say that he believed he was a surrealist. He obsessively painted his favorite subjects which were houses, driveways, trees, and birds. Perhaps those were the elements in his life with which he was most familiar and those that gave him comfort and inspiration.
Note: There is no additional charge for shipping/handling inside the continental U.S., except where noted on individual pieces of artwork. Tax is charged to Georgia buyers only.
